Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Manager – Accounts to join our finance team. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance. If you have a strong analytical mindset and are ready to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR, reconciliations, and journal entries

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal controls

  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies

  • Supervise junior accounting staff and support their development

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP).

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

  • Assist in preparing management reports and dashboards.

General Ledger Management

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions and journal entries.

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Oversee the processing of vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations.

  • Monitor customer invoicing, collections, and aging reports.

  • Ensure timely settlement of dues and accurate customer/vendor ledgers.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

  • Monitor budget performance and analyze variances.

  • Provide financial insights to support strategic planning.

Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure timely filing of tax returns (GST, TDS, income tax, etc.).

  • Assist in handling tax assessments and audits.

  • Stay updated with changes in tax laws and accounting regulations.

Internal Controls & Audit

  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to queries.

  • Recommend improvements to financial systems and procedures.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., procurement, sales, HR) for financial clarity and controls.

  • Ensure timely and accurate communication of financial matters.

ERP & Software Management

  • Use accounting software and ERP systems for efficient financial operations.

  • Assist in system upgrades, data migrations, or implementation projects if needed.

Documentation & Record-Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

  • Ensure timely archiving of documents for statutory and internal purposes.
