Surveyor is required to demonstrate a more comprehensive knowledge of surveys and field operations. This shall include but is not limited to independent judgment, communication and supervisory abilities. The individual in this position is well versed in the day to day operational functions of a field and/or office survey organization. This person possesses advanced technical and supervisory skills. Work elements listed below further describe the requirements related to this position.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Skilled in using various Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) applications, Total stations, auto levels. Software programs to collect and accurately process land survey data.
• Use survey data to generate coordinate files for use in determining property lines, benchmarks, topographical features, cross-sections, field notes, quantities of materials.
• Design, as-built, and maintaining horizontal and vertical control networks utilizing a full range of survey Equipment
• Prepares and verifies mathematical calculations related to surveying and basic engineering computes and adjusts angles, distances, bearings traverses and elevations interprets and computes field data
• Utilize 3D models and CAD for generating survey points for layout in the field, and capture survey points in the field for verification against 3D models and CAD
• Prepare and Review proposed setting out calculations, details, clash analysis of combined utilities, Work Inspection Requests
• Check the field measurement surveys including original and final cross sections, check critical elevations, dimensions and locations of structural elements, earthwork grading and pavement
• Prepare and review detailed survey in advance of construction operations, investigate and clarify survey discrepancies
• Tracks and maintains survey supplies such as stakes and marking equipment, ensures safety devices are present and in use as appropriate.
